The Pincode Based Delivery Estimate Checker is a feature provided by our shipping tracking plugin to offer customers estimation of delivery time based on their specific delivery location (pincode). This feature is designed to enhance the customer experience by providing transparent and reliable delivery timelines for their orders. The plugin uses a combination of real-time data from shipping aggregators and internal algorithms to calculate delivery estimates.
The plugin supports two types of pincode data providers:
1. Shiprocket: Shiprocket is a shipping aggregator known for its vast database of pincode-specific delivery time data. The plugin can directly access the Shiprocket API to retrieve precise delivery estimates based on the customer’s entered pincode.
- Allowed Courier Companies: This plugin provides a list of courier companies that are available for shipping to the specified PIN code. This information ensures transparency in carrier options for delivery to a particular location.
- Processing Days: This plugin also provides an estimate of the processing days required before the shipment is handed over to the courier company for delivery. This includes order verification, packaging, and other processing steps.
- Pickup Pincode: This plugin specifies the PIN code from which the order will be picked up for delivery. This helps customers understand the origin location of their package.
2. Generic: In case a merchant does not have access to the Shiprocket API or prefers to use their data source, the plugin also supports a generic pincode data provider. This provider may have a more basic dataset, but it still offers reasonable delivery estimates based on the available information.
- Min & Max Shipping Charges: With this feature, businesses can define a minimum and maximum shipping charge for deliveries to different pincodes. This allows customers to know the shipping cost associated with their order before making a purchase.
- Min & Max Delivery Days: This feature allows businesses to set a minimum and maximum number of days required for delivery to a specific pincode. It provides customers with an estimated delivery time range, giving them a better understanding of when they can expect their order to arrive.
